Moving to West Virginia
Once a part of Virginia, West Virginia became its own state after the American Civil War. The state has a rich history as a mining (coal and logging) and agriculture region, which is also considered one of the most mountainous regions in the U.S. as well as the location of the Appalachian Mountain range.
