The lighthouses are another fun excursion where you can take in the views of the oceans and explore the country. Economy: In Michigan, the manufacturing of cars and transportation equipment make up about 30 percent of the states economy. The mass-production methods which helped propel the automobile industry are located in Michigan and there are numerous automotive plants still in Detroit, Dearborn, Flint, Pontiac and Lansing. Agriculture is also big in Michigan where corn, cherries, cucumbers, carrots, blueberries, peaches, apples and other vegetables are produced.
