Atlanta, Georgia

People are moving to Atlanta, Georgia to experience the city's vibrant culture and history as the birthplace of the civil rights movement with such monumental Atlanta's history of interracial harmony helped attract the "Centennial Olympic Games" to the city in 1996. Today's Atlanta is at first glance a typical large American city, but no visitor could fail to notice its progressive feel. The city attracts millions of tourist a year, who come to Atlanta to experience its vibrant arts, excellent dining and diverse nightlife scenes.

History:
Founded in 1837, Atlanta, Georgia today is a fast-growing city, remaining a transportation hub not only of the country but also of the world. Over the last four decades, Atlanta has been closely linked to the Civil Rights Movement in America. In the 1960s, Atlanta became a major organizing center of the Civil Rights Movement, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and students from Atlanta's historically Black colleges playing major roles in the movement's progress. Civil Rights leaders help the movement to progress: working as visionaries who saw a new south and a new Atlanta. Because of them Atlanta became a fast-pace modern city. Selected as the site of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, Atlanta undertook several major construction projects, in the early 90s, to improve the city's parks, sports facilities and transportation. Atlanta proudly became the third US city to host the Summer Olympic Games. And in the past two decades since the Olympic Games, Atlanta has experienced unprecedented growth.

Economy:
While the Coca-Cola Company maintains a considerable influence in Atlanta, no single industry truly dominates Atlanta’s local economy. Service industries employ the largest number of workers; still trade and manufacturing are also important elements. Having such diversity, Atlanta has been slower to suffer any recent downturn, and quicker to recover from any temporary setback, than many other major American cities. Several corporations are headquartered in Atlanta including Home Depot, BellSouth, UPS and Delta Airlines. Efforts by local colleges and industry to make Atlanta a high-tech center are coming to fruition. Furthermore, Atlanta continues to make strides toward becoming a leading center of business and trade. More than 1,300 foreign-based businesses have operations in metropolitan Atlanta, employing more than 80,000 residents. With all of this exciting and growing business ventures, it's no wonder why Atlanta moving companies are so busy.

Tourism:
There is so much to see and do while in Atlanta. You can enjoy the city’s vibrant arts, exquisite dining and vibrant nightlife.
