A newer city, Miami was founded by Europeans that was later claimed by Spain. The area was known as “Biscayne Bay County” during its early years that were signified as having promise in Florida; however, in 1894 the great freeze wrecked havoc on the area and little crops survived. Miami prospered in the 1920s whose population grew following World War II. There was also a huge population boom when Fidel Castro took over Cuba causing more people to move.

There is much to see and do in the lively city of Miami. The South Beach Art Deco District is a great place to check out new artists as well as explore the boutiques on Lincoln Road.
