Oxnard, California

Hello, paradise! Oxnard, California is great city that lies on extra fertile land. That’s why everything is bigger, better and sweeter in Oxnard. Lying on the Santa Clara River, there are clean and spacious beaches, dunes and wetlands to explore. There are also great local restaurants where the local produce is available for taste. In Oxnard, California, people rave about the cucumbers, sugar beets, Lima beans and of course, strawberries. We would definitely move to the West Coast for all you can eat strawberries, but there is so much more about Oxnard, California is convincing us to stay there.

In addition to experiencing the finest wine, chocolate and cheese tours you have ever been on, Oxnard’s most popular attractions are Anacapa Island, the Channel Islands Harbor and the Murphy Auto Museum. Anacapa Island is actually composed of five islands like the U.S.’s very own version of the Galapagos Islands. What’s to see there? There are rocks that are millions of years old, rare coreopsis flowers, hundreds of sharks, native white western seagulls in flocks and so much more wild life and sea life. Channel Islands Harbor is a place you want to head if you are looking for family fun. There is so much to do here including have picnics, surf Pacific waves, eat Brazilian food or other ethnic cuisine, venture to the Ventura County Maritime Museum or take whaling tours. There is so much that you have never expected to do here in this Californian city. The Murphy Auto Museum is something you will only find here. It was started by Dan Murphy who has collected over 50 unique automobiles that exhibits over 100 years of automotive history. It’s a relaxing pit stop along the way from the wine, dining and drinks tour of the city.

Oxnard, California does well as the strawberry and lima bean capital of the state of California. There are also two large U.S. Navy bases that are rooted in the city making it a very attractive transportation hub. The Amtrack, Union Pacific, Metrolink, Greyhound and Oxnard Airport connections also add to this highway of transport. Easy access to the city in addition to its extra fertile soil seems to have worked wonders for Oxnard, California as its economy is heavily based upon international trade, agriculture and tourism. The region’s major employers include St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Oxnard Union High School District, Waterway Plastics, the City of Oxnard, Haas Automation, Del Monte, Chiquita, BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar.
