Moving to Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is often referred to by many names: "the Keystone State," "the Snack Capital of the World," "the Quaker State" or the "the Coal State." Despite its many nicknames, your new home in Pennsylvania is state rich in history as one of the original 13 colonies as well as the location where the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Capital City: The capital of Pennsylvania is Harrisburg.

Population: Currently, 12.3 million reside in Pennsylvania.

Local Activities: Pennsylvania offers visitors and residence plenty of outdoor experiences, theatrical shows, amusement parks, zoos and national parks such as Cherry Springs State Park. There is also Lake Tobia Wildlife Park, Pine Creek Gorge and Laurel Highlands Trail where you can hike, fish, kayak, swim, sail or go boating. For arts and entertainment, you can take in a play the Erie Playhouse or explore the Carlisle Performing Arts Center. The Railroaders Museum, Longwood Gardens and the Philips Conservatory as just some of the many cultural attractions you can experience when moving to Pennsylvania.

Economy: Agriculture, banking and gambling are the major industries in Pennsylvania. The state is the number one producer of mushrooms and third producer of Christmas trees. Dairy products, chickens, grapes, corn, buckwheat, potatoes and tobacco are also produced in Pennsylvania. The state is also home to several Fortune 500 companies such as U.S. Steel, Heinz and PPG Industries. Tourism is also a huge industry with the Poconos, Gettysburg and the Pennsylvania Dutch Country working as popular visitor destinations.
