Local Activities: There are so many things to see and do when you move to Oregon. You can ski the mountains or swim in the pristine oceans or explore Crater Lake National Park, Oregon's only national park. Mount Hoot is a great skiing destination to explore the slopes year-round. For cultural attractions, be sure to check out the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Bohemia Gold Mining Museum and the Alder House Museum. Other points of interest include the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Oregon Caves National Monument, Cape Perpetua in Siuslaw National Forest and the Columbia River Gorge.

Economy: The main industries in Oregon are lumber and wood products as well as paper and allied manufacturing. The salmon-fishing industry is one of the worlds largest. Within agriculture, Oregon grows peppermint, blackberries, boysenberries, loganberries, black raspberries apples and hazelnuts. With the low-cost electric power provided by dams, Oregon has developed steadily as a manufacturing state. Leading manufactured items are lumber and plywood, metalwork, machinery, aluminum, chemicals, paper, food packing, and electronic equipment.

State Tree: The state tree is the Douglas-fir.

State Flower: The state flower is the Oregon grape.

State Song: "Oregon, My Oregon" is the state song. It was written by J.A. Buchanan.
