New Mexico is renowned for its rich land that was once cultivated by the Pueblos for minerals. Outdoor lovers will enjoy exploring the outdoor terrain where you can explore one of the areas 13 national monuments and parks, five national forests and 35 state parks. There are mountains and lakes and grasslands for boating, wind surfing, horseback riding and much more. There is also a strong fine arts community to explore while living in New Mexico. The Carlsbad Caverns National Park is also a popular destination as well as the ruins at Fort Union and the Chaco Culture National Historical Park. You can explore the site of the Roswell flying saucer crash, the Smokey Bear Historical Park in Capitian, the National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque, the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum and the War Eagles Museum in Santa Teresa. There are also various niche museums in New Mexico sch as the American International Rattlesnake Museum, the Ghost Ranch Living Museum, New Mexico Museum of Sports History and much more.

Economy: There are numerous ranches in New Mexico where cattle and sheep are raised. In the dry regions of New Mexico hay and grains are produced as well as onions, dairy and potatoes. Minerals found in New Mexico also contribute to the state's economy such as ore, salt, natural gas and tin. The largest employer in New Mexico is the federal government with positions in the military, air force and at national laboratories.
