Local Activities: As the location of the world's longest freshwater coastline, 100 public beaches, 11,000 inland lakes and numerous national parks there is surely a lot to do in Michigan. The remote Isle Royale National Park is a gorgeous vacation spot where you can hike, soak in the beauty of nature and maybe even see moose and wolves running freely. The lighthouses are another fun excursion where you can take in the views of the oceans and explore the country. The Grand Haven Lighthouse, the Detour Reef Lighthouse and the Big Stable Point Lighthouse are just some of the many lighthouses that you can explore. For an artistic adventure, you can explore the Cranbrook Institute of Science, the Gerald Ford Museum in Grand Rapids, the Kalamazoo Art Museum or the Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum in Bay City.

Economy: In Michigan, the manufacturing of cars and transportation equipment make up about 30 percent of the states economy. The mass-production methods which helped propel the automobile industry are located in Michigan and there are numerous automotive plants still in Detroit, Dearborn, Flint, Pontiac and Lansing. Agriculture is also big in Michigan where corn, cherries, cucumbers, carrots, blueberries, peaches, apples and other vegetables are produced.
