If you look hard enough, you can find a plethora of things to do in Kentucky you wouldn't have thought of. And while in Kentucky make sure to taste the southern cuisine whether it is southern fried chicken, BBQ ribs, or a local dish called a "Hot Brown," which features toasted bread, bacon, tomatoes, and a topping of mornay sauce that is strictly Kentuckian. Get wrapped up in all the wonders Kentucky has to offer.

Local Activities: There are major waterways that cut up Kentucky such as the Ohio River, Mississippi River, Cumberland River, Kentucky River, Green River, Lake Cumberland, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley… so swimming, boating, fishing and other water activities are not out of the question. Also, enjoy the Kentucky State Parks where there are numerous nature trails, horse farms and fine dining.

Economy: The economy of Kentucky has one based on agriculture since the times of statehood and the Civil War. Currently, Kentucky does very well with motor vehicle manufacturing and metal works. Crops that still come out of Kentucky to other parts of the country include horses, whiskey, young chickens, cattle, calves, tobacco and soybeans. The state's Governor Ernie Fletcher led a mediocre marketing campaign that tried pulling people into the state with the appeal of friendliness and southern hospitality. Though the southern hospitality is reportedly immense, the ads didn't work too well in bringing in more tourists. But, it's a step in the right direction for a state to embrace tourism.
